Thank you!

We welcome your support in strengthening programs that bring hope, healing, and practical assistance to individuals and communities in need.

Founded in July 2024 as a registered BC Charity Society and a Canada Revenue Agency–recognized Non-Profit, VIK9 AHSS exists to train and provide specialized Service Dogs, Canine Assisted Intervention (CAI) Support Dogs, and Critical Incident & Trauma (CIT) Support Dogs. These dogs are not simply companions; they are task-trained partners who help people living with PTSD, trauma, anxiety, or other challenges to regain confidence, independence, and connection.

Already, our teams are making a difference.

  • Groot, a CIT Support Dog, and Jack, a CAI Support Dog, currently provide weekly support at Broadmead Lodge, the Poppy Office in Sidney, and the Saanichton Bible Fellowship Church.
  • We are working with schools, veterans’ organizations, and community groups to expand programs that address trauma, promote wellness, and educate the public on the critical roles service dogs play.
  • Our public speaking and educational sessions help dispel myths, highlight best practices, and advocate for stronger support systems within the Animal Assisted Human Services field.

As a young organization, community support is vital. We are seeking contributions toward our General Fund to cover essential operational costs and program growth. A gift of $2,000 (or any amount that feels right for you) will directly help us:

  • Provide training and support for new CAI/CIT Support Dogs
  • Expand outreach to more schools, veterans’ transition homes, and community groups
  • Sustain ongoing education and awareness programs

We would be honoured to discuss how your support can make a tangible impact — to answer any questions or concerns you may have, or even arrange a visit with one of our task-trained dogs so you can see firsthand the life-changing work they do. contact info@vik9.ca

Thank you for considering this request and for all you do to strengthen our community.
